META MORTIS: A Lost Rebellion Resurrected Hi, I’m Gork, and this is the story of how I lost—and found—a piece of my soul in the digital chaos.

The Spark In 2021, the world went mad for NFTs. Everyone was minting monkeys, punks, and pixelated avatars. But I didn’t care about hype or profits. I wanted to scream into the void. To ask: What happens to humanity when screens replace our skin?

So I created META MORTIS—a pixel art rebellion. Each piece was a labor of love, drawn pixel by pixel on a creaky old laptop. No AI, no filters, no shortcuts. Just raw, human imperfection. It was my protest against a world racing toward digital numbness.

But fear held me back. What if I messed up? What if no one cared? So I saved everything to a USB stick, wiped my computer, and told myself, “I’ll mint it later.”

Then life laughed at my plans.

The Vanishing During a move, the USB vanished. Poof. Gone. For years, I searched. I cursed. I even tried to redraw the collection from memory, but… it wasn’t the same. The originals weren’t just art—they were me. A version of myself I’d buried in that USB.

I gave up. Stopped drawing. Stopped caring.

Until one day…


The Resurrection There it was. Tucked under a pile of forgotten receipts in an old shoebox. The USB.

Opening those files felt like time travel. Suddenly, I was back in 2021—idealistic, angry, alive. META MORTIS wasn’t just pixels. It was a manifesto: “We are more than algorithms.”

But now, I’m not that same artist. And this isn’t a reboot.

It’s a revolution.

Why Pixel Art?
In a world obsessed with 4K and AI “perfection,” pixels are radical. They’re slow. Deliberate. Human. Every dot is a choice—a middle finger to the machines.

The Problem
I don’t have a laptop anymore. Just this cracked phone. Try drawing a 512x512 pixel grid on a 6-inch screen. Zoom in. Zoom out. Drop sweat on the touchscreen. Repeat. It’s like painting a mural with a toothpick.

I could keep doing this. But I don’t want to just survive. I want to thrive.
